Flying Blue is the loyalty program of Air France and KLM. It allows members to earn miles through flights and activities such as shopping, dining, and renting cars, which can then be redeemed for flights, upgrades, and other benefits.
Benefits of Flying Blue membership include:
- Earning miles with every eligible flight, which can be redeemed for award flights and upgrades
- Access to exclusive offers and promotions
- Priority check-in, boarding, and baggage handling
- Increased baggage allowances
- Lounge access at select airports
- The ability to pool miles with family and friends through the Family Pooling option.
There are four membership tiers, each with increasing benefits, and members can move up the tiers based on their activity and miles earned within a given year.
Each tier offers different benefits and privileges, including earning miles, lounge access, baggage allowances, and more.
- Ivory: This is the entry-level tier, which provides basic benefits such as earning miles and redeeming them for award flights, priority check-in, and baggage handling.
- Silver: This tier offers additional benefits such as an increased baggage allowance, lounge access, and priority boarding. Members also earn miles at a higher rate compared to the Ivory tier.
- Gold: In addition to the benefits of the Silver tier, Gold members receive a higher baggage allowance, more lounge access options, and priority baggage handling. They also earn miles at an even higher rate.
- Platinum: The highest tier, Platinum, provides the most extensive range of benefits, including access to the highest tier of lounges, an even higher baggage allowance, and the best seat options. Platinum members also earn miles at the highest rate and have access to exclusive offers and promotions.
Note that to maintain a higher tier, members must earn a minimum number of miles and/or fly a minimum number of flights within a given year.
